This is a model that I completed and posted to my blog some time ago, but in an effort to clear space in my over-crowded Brooklyn apartment I've decided to auction it off on Ebay.
It's an English brig from the period of the Napoleonic wars, and features crew members on deck and in the rigging, a painted sea base, MDF pedestal and a fitted plexiglass cover that can be removed.
If it turns out there is a market for this sort of thing (I've never tried it before!) then a few other similar models may follow.
The auction can be found here:

Take a look if you're interested in this sort of thing! - James

USS Wasp - Langton 1:300
The water that the ships sits on is the resin offering from Langton, and then I've mounted the whole thing on an mdf base, which has a clear acrylic display cover that fits over it.

Langton Miniatures 1/300 Schooner
This is another 1/300 Langton ship model, this time an American schooner with a pivot gun, from the war of 1812. I modified it very slightly by removing the davits and ship's boat from the stern. Not to be wasteful, I added some rowers to the boat and positioned it on the base a bit ahead of the ship. I like what it does for the overall sense of scale.

Langton Miniatures 1/300 Brig
Here are some photos of a 1/300 scale English Brig, a Langton Miniatures kit, from around the time of the War of 1812. I am reluctant to call it finished at this point, as there is still some additional rigging and some weathering effects for the sails that I may eventually undertake. On a project where the intricacy of the detail is one of the chief delights it's difficult to reach a stopping point!
